Privacypolicy
This page explains what personal data we collect when you visit the site or write to us, why we do it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask of us at any time. It is written under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

The controller's identifying details are still to be filled in, and this text must be reviewed by a lawyer before publication.
Who handles your data
The data controller is whoever decides why and how your data is used. For this site that is:
- Company name
- PLACEHOLDER — registered name
- Registered office
- PLACEHOLDER — full address, Catania
- VAT number
- PLACEHOLDER
- PLACEHOLDER — address for privacy requests
- Certified email
- PLACEHOLDER
We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer: we do not fall within the cases where the appointment is mandatory. For any question about your data, write to the address above.
What we collect
The site has no forms to fill in, no members' area and nothing to sell. What reaches us is little, and of three kinds only.
- Browsing data
- The systems that run the site record, out of technical necessity, the IP address you arrive from, your browser and device type, the page requested and the time. They serve to deliver the pages and to defend the site against abuse; we do not use them to identify you.
- Data you give us
- If you email or call us to ask about availability, we handle what you tell us: name, contact details, dates, preferences. You give them freely, and we use them to reply.
- Cookies and similar technologies
- Small files the site leaves on your device. Which they are, what they do and how to change your mind is set out in the cookie policy.
The site has no booking engine of its own: when you click "Book" you leave here and arrive on an external platform, which collects your data under its own policy. From that moment its use is no longer ours to decide.
Why we handle it
Every processing operation has a purpose and a legal basis: the reason, recognised by law, that lets us do it.
- Running the site
- Legitimate interest in delivering and protecting the service (Art. 6.1.f)
- Replying to people who write
- Pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6.1.b)
- Statistics and marketing cookies
- Your consent, withdrawable at any time (Art. 6.1.a)
- Tax and legal obligations
- Legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c)
How long we keep it
We keep nothing longer than it is needed. When the term runs out, the data is deleted or anonymised.
- Server technical logs
- Up to 12 months
- Email and correspondence
- 24 months from the last exchange
- Documents with tax relevance
- 10 years, as the law requires
- Cookie consent
- 6 months, then we ask you again
Who else sees it
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone for purposes of their own. It may be handled, on our behalf and under our instruction, by the suppliers that keep us online: whoever hosts the site, whoever runs the email, whoever may in future provide our reading statistics. Each of them is appointed a processor under Article 28 of the Regulation.
An up-to-date list of processors is available on request, by writing to the controller's address.
If it leaves Europe
Some suppliers may have servers outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, the transfer only goes to countries the European Commission considers adequate, or rests on the standard contractual clauses adopted by the Commission, with whatever additional measures are needed. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards applied.
What you can ask of us
These are the rights the Regulation gives you. To exercise them an email to the controller's address is enough: we reply within a month, and it costs nothing.
- Access
- To know whether we handle your data, and receive a copy of what we hold.
- Rectification
- To have a wrong entry corrected, or an incomplete one completed.
- Erasure
- To have it deleted, once we no longer have a reason to keep it.
- Restriction
- To freeze its use while we look into an objection of yours.
- Portability
- To receive it in a machine-readable format, or have it passed to another controller.
- Objection
- To object to the processing we carry out on legitimate interest.
- Withdrawal of consent
- To change your mind about statistics and marketing cookies whenever you like, without what came before becoming unlawful.
If you think we got it wrong
Write to us: it is nearly always a misunderstanding that clears up in two lines. If the answer doesn't convince you, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome) or to go to court.
Minors
The site is not aimed at anyone under sixteen and does not knowingly collect their data. If you notice that a minor has sent us personal information, write to us: we will delete it.
If this page changes
When we add a new service — a booking engine, a map, a statistics tool — we will update this policy before switching it on. The date at the top always says when the current version was written, and anything that touches cookies will be put back to you through the banner.
